An important part of Ichtus Flanders' operation is based on student leadership. The local groups are supported by a student worker, but led by students. These groups are the place par excellence for students to test and develop their leadership talents in a safe environment.
At the local level, the student worker closely monitors the committee. Short cuts can be made when it comes to giving feedback, complimenting, adjusting, giving advice...The local student worker is the first person to invest in the group's student leaders.
In addition, a training weekend for steering committees and student leaders is organised at Ichtus Flanders level. During this weekend - at the beginning of the academic year - general skills are taught.
Finally, every two years IFES Europe offers training for student leaders from all over the continent. As Ichtus Flanders, we consider this an integral part of our leadership education offer.
